home

Some of my favorite things around the house.

Geeez, I really need to clean the leaves of my rubber plant (its some kind of ficus and I adore it).

I thought this print of Mary Berry was perfect because I am so addicted to The British Bake Off!

I can't wait to show you our Christmas decor. So much cute stuff! But it's still all in the garage.

Need to wait a few weeks...😬

And yes, that is real coral in the cloche. I bought it at a thrift store, I would never support anyone selling coral since it is so endangered. I was in Maui years ago snorkeling and I accidentally stepped on some coral and it was super painful and I felt so bad. In another life I would be an oceanographer. Who knows, it still may be something I do. But right now my focus is writing so I can get published or self publish. 💕

bohemian kitsch

Last week I took down the Halloween decor and put out a few fall things. I really simplified our living room and it feels so fresh and clean. I'm excited to decorate for Christmas, I think I am going to put less stuff out this year...we'll see, we have so much cute stuff! We love Christmas and we have a ton of sparkly and vintage decorations.

This year, we are going to try to put our tree more in the middle of the side of our living room instead of near the front window. We'll see how it works. We have short Ikea cubbies along that entire area full of books, so I think I'm going to get white tablecloths to cover the books so the tree is the focal point.

I'm also super excited to decorate after Christmas! I want to keep things simple and also spread my plants around the house. I have a small table full of plants and I just can't enjoy their beauty when they're all scrunched together. I have a ton of vintage kitsch so I want to pair that down and just rotate the kitsch decor more often so I can enjoy each piece.

I want to make the house look more bohemian, and I think I'm going to call my style "bohemian kitsch". I'm also super excited for when we get our two spare rooms cleaned. They are a mess and don't really have a purpose. We are going to use one for a nursery of course, and the other space as an office or something (not sure yet...). I'm excited for the nursery because I can put a lot of plants in there, and it will actually be good for our baby!

I'll try to start posting more of my decor and plants on Instagram, so keep an eye out!

What do you love the most about your home?
